March Moon-Wise Astrology Guide

Astrological Guide

March 2014
Welcome the Mystical
New Moon of Pisces

Welcome to the intuitive and emotional water energy of the new moon in Pisces that happened on March 1, aligning both Chiron and Neptune (ruler of Pisces), making the energies even more dreamy, diffuse and other-worldly. Also on March 1, Mars turns retrograde at 27 Libra 31.  Mars rules how we project our ego energy into the outer world. This period (until May 19) will help us to reevaluate our methods and their results.  A main challenge with Mars in Libra is in achieving a healthy balance of independence and dependence in our relationships, along with lessons in conflict resolution.

The insight of opportunity on how, when or where to create those changes come as Mars goes retrogrades on Saturday March 1, forcing to reflection on our goals, looking at what is needs to be completed right now? What is it you cannot delay any longer? What attitude do you refuse to release? What responsibilities are you avoiding that will afford change? There are life deadlines in play right now and whether they involve your personal, spiritual or professional life, they must be addressed.

The question is how long does one stand on a fence before making a decision? When are circumstances perfect enough for things to change? The truth is there are no perfect circumstances, there is no perfect balance, and the conflict between interdependence and co-dependence is not worth staying on that fence. If we were perfect, we certainly wouldn't be here. In addition, the anxiety produced from this ongoing balancing act is exhausting and really not worth the anxiety, stress and discomfort it engenders? The answers come in the next few months. They come slowly and piece meal, but they do come.

The first week of the Mars retrograde is about separating reality from the smoke and mirrors of recent weeks. Then as Spring Equinox arrives in late March, you see lots of change and movement.  It usually takes Mars six weeks to complete its passage through a sign, but when retrograde, it is six months if you incorporate all its phases!!! The first direct phase was (December 7, 2013 to March 1, 2014), then a retrograde phase (March 1 to May 19, 2014), then direct is May 19, 2014, and, finally, the re-establishment of territory and movement complete on July 22, 2014 when Mars returns back to its retrograde position.  This is an opportunity for learning and starting action and becoming painfully aware of when or how you freeze up and get stuck. It is always our own choice because we have free will. No one else is going to do it for you.

Saturn turns retrograde on March 2, at 23 Scorpio, for the next five months.  This period may call for re-structuring agreements and projects, or doing more research to provide a more solid foundation for our plans. On March 6, Jupiter turns direct at 10 Cancer, ending a retrograde that began on November 6, 2013.  During this period, we have been learning and revising our beliefs about inner and outer foundations, security issues, home, family and feminine energy.  Now we can move forward with confidence that our actions and improvements will bring positive results and hope for new possibilities in the spring and summer months. Also Venus entering charismatic and friendly Aquarius on March 6th, the air becomes lighter with new ideas and social opportunities will transform our many months of Venus in Capricorn’s heavy responsible vibes. It’s time for a little more fun and a lot less stress.

The Full Moon occurs on March 16 at 26 Virgo. It closely squares the Galactic Center at 27 Sagittarius, giving this lunation more transformational potential.  Virgo traits emphasize being efficient, pragmatic and health-conscious. Virgo can provide us with the discernment to avoid negative Pisces traps that include guilt, shame and playing a victim/martyr role in relationships.  Its shadow side includes being overly critical, exacting and finding flaws.

Activities that could flourish this month include healing, dream work, meditation, creativity, service and nurturing self and others.  It would be wise to keep a journal of any significant dreams, visions and imagery appearing at this time. We may also experience increased sensitivity, boundary issues, a need to surrender, and more urges to escape. It would be beneficial to ground oneself this month by connecting with nature through walks or gardening.

It is important to know the area of life or placement of the New Moon and the Full Moon in your chart. February Moon-Wise Astrology Guide

Moon-Wise

Astrological Guide
for your Business and Personal Life

February 2014

February is the best month to time to socialize, be innovation, pushes the frontiers of your freedom and originality with the universal energies of Aquarius.  The February Astrology is late because I was involved with the Woman of Wisdom Conference, volunteering and performing my poetry at the Banquet. http://womenofwisdom.org/conference/

After the WOW Conference I also volunteered at Faeriecon. http://faeriecon.com/west/ and enjoyed the Music of Faun http://www.faune.de/web/index-en.html. All the magical music and fairy costumes were a perfect fit for to the universal energies of Aquarius and Pisces.

We entered the Year of the Wood Horse on the new moon of Aquarius on January 30, 2014 at 1:38 PM PST. What a year this will be. There will be lots of action and very fast-moving energy. Gemini is the astrological sign for The Year of the Horse. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, which acts like quicksilver.

At this new super moon in Aquarius, a lunation that occurs when the moon is at perigee (closest to earth).  The term “Supermoon” is in common usage now, even by astronomers, but it was first coined by astrologer Richard Nolle. The astrology of this amazing time will be with Venus being stationing conjunct to Pluto in Capricorn, opposite Jupiter in Cancer, squaring Uranus in Aries and Mars in Libra.  Venus is part of our on-going revolutionary square and grand cross.  We need to add our personal values to the cosmic revolution. New Moons are the starting point of a cycle of life, they are beginnings, vistas of what can be, they herald the formation of ideas and plans and in Aquarius and affected by Uranus the urge to do something different is very strong. Yes everyone, it’s now time for us to go in a new direction.

Following the lead of all this are the inner planets all of which are either slowing down, stopped or getting ready to switch the direction of their movement. Mercury still in Aquarius is grinding to a halt before turning retrograde on the 6th February, brings the tendency for confusion creativity and even stimulates psychic abilities.

Venus is at the end of the retrograde period and late tomorrow it starts to move direct after 6 weeks of retrograde motion.  Venus going direct will affect our relationships and our finances, vital everyday things that are central to how we exist. These have been under a review period and I dare say that you will have been working out what works and what doesn’t in these areas of your life in the last month and a half. As Venus turns to move direct, it’s time to try different strategies in your relationships and in how you deal with your finances fuelled by the inspiration of the Aquarian new Moon

I see this new Moon as the beginning of a process of change for our everyday lives. The outer planets control the larger themes that affect us all but the inner planets control our day to day routines and occurrences, our work, what we say and how we communicate, the journeys we make, meetings we have, how we use our money, who we love and how we relate to them. Here is where you will begin feel the change as the rules shift and this is the moment is where we start to turn things around.

The Full Moon in Aquarius and Leo on Monday, February 14, Valentine's Day is called the 'Snow Moon'; perfect For Lovers couples, romantics and sky-watchers.  “During a Leo Full Moon, issues involving individuals and their relationship to the collective assume center stage. One of the questions that this Full Moon poses is how we can authentically be ourselves while at the same time being part of and contributing to something larger than our individual selves.

The Leo Full Moon message is awaken to your heart’s desires and act on your truth….”“Saturn is in a T-square to the Sun and the Moon. This is about balance. Creating balance in you is the key to a successful life. Also On Wednesday, February 19 the North Node moves into Libra, and the South Node into Aries, where they will remain for nearly two years making largely unavoidable the issue of how to get along with others and find a harmonious way through what are often choppy waters. It requires that we find a balance between standing our ground and allowing others their own safe ground to occupy unthreatened; between honoring our own needs and priorities whilst finding an effective way to recognize those of other people.

On February 19, 10 am PST, the Sun enters the last of the universal signs Pisces. This is an especially enjoyable time to seek the out the spiritual side of your life with music, art, romance, poetry, nature, religion, and service to others.

January Moon-Wise Astrology Guide

Moon-Wise
Astrological Guide
for your Business and Personal Life

January 2014

Time for Making our Intentions

We are moving from a universal 6 year of interdependence with all types of relationships to a universal 7 year of where we may find a more contemplative and reflective tone being expressed in the media as a more philosophical and metaphysical view of the world and world events becomes more commonplace. This can bring about more interest in the areas of religion, spirituality, metaphysics, mystical teachings and the occult as people look to better understand themselves and the world and universe in which they live. This may also bring about an increase and awareness of psychic phenomenon and abilities. Many may find inspiration, guidance and knowledge through dreams, intuition, and the awareness and use of previously unknown personal abilities in the intuitive realm.

“The seven in the Tarot is the man holding onto the wild horse of his chariot. It often signifies movement while standing still!  Think about that, Standing still and holding the horses that want to run in all directions, builds up the upper torso — the ‘reaching’ part of all of us. This year is about reaching for that something different, that something unique, that expresses our most vital and internal soul and spirit. In order to move forward into new directions, we must develop new skills and practices, changing up our day to day activities to include physical as well as the mental and digital focus that seems to have taken over in recent years”  Georgia Stathis  http://starcycles.com/

As the Sun rose on New Year's Day, January 1, 2014, we experienced a rare New Moon in Capricorn. The last New Moon on a New Year was nineteen years ago. This year is all about new beginnings and the opportunity for us to make a fresh start and to make changes to ourselves and in our lives.

The New Year's chart has another very rare feature. There is a stellium, formed when several planets are in one sign, in the practical and industrious sign of Capricorn with the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Pluto all passing through Capricorn at the same time.

We have the potentials with the energies of Capricorn to become masters of organization, our thoughts becoming orderly and down to earth. Clear intentions in 2014 are essential, as is alignment between mind, body and soul. The best of Capricorn expresses when the public and private persona is so fully integrated there is no difference between the two.  Capricorn’s end game is to become master of her world without succumbing to the fame, glory and riches that they inevitably bring.

Here are some more observations about the astrological line-up for astrologers to note. Venus is the last planet by degrees in the Capricorn stellium, quite weak in 26 degrees Capricorn retrograde. Venus began its retrograde cycle on Dec. 21, 2013 at 29° Capricorn. The next most important phase is when the transiting Sun conjuncts Venus. It is called the Inferior conjunction and is the mid-point of the retrograde cycle. This occurs on January 11, 2014 at 21°Capricorn at 4:25am PST. Finally, Venus retrograde ends on January 31, 2014 at 13°Capricorn at 12:49pm.

We are all in the process of revising our values regarding who belongs in our life or not. Also, needs and desires are changing in terms of where you spend your money or other cash flow considerations. It's time to come to terms with relationships, what you really value, where is the pleasure in your life. Capricorn is about work, work, work. It is time to find work you like.

Also mercury is direct in 11 degrees Capricorn, one degree separating from the Sun in 10 degrees. It is out of bounds in 24 degrees, 42 minutes south declination. It is time to transcend boundaries and examine ideas that you have never entertained before. Learn to think outside the box in making decisions.

The energy starts with the New Moon in Capricorn and culminates when the planets move into a perfect cross on April 20-21. This fast-acting cardinal cross in the heavens will start the year off with new opportunities and new possibilities to make change a reality in your life. The cardinal grand cross continues to play out, with the potential for great unrest or downright calamity with, Uranus in Aries, opposite Mars in Libra, Jupiter in Cancer are in opposition to Pluto, the Sun and Mercury in Capricorn.  Then the planets in the cross will be in a challenging square on the 13-14 degrees Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn with Jupiter squares Mars, and Uranus and Pluto square Mars and Uranus.

It will be your time to for change if you have the Sun, Moon, rising sign or any angular planets in the cardinal signs of Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn.

Then on the New Moon of January 30 in Aquarius we will move into the year of The Wood Horse which corresponds with the sign Gemini. This means it will be a super active year with many adventures. People will desire to be reckless, romantic, and carefree. Action will be the key word this year.

I always think of the horse, in prophecy, as the white horse Pegasus who represents Christ energy, or Christ consciousness. Isn’t it time for this energy to manifest on Earth. We are the ones we have been waiting for.  Let’s move into action and start shining our light for all to see.

May Love, light, good health and prosperity
Shine brightly for everyone, everything, everywhere,
in this coming year and remember
the Great Spirit is always watching over us and protecting us

December Holiday Travels in LA

 December

Holiday Travels in LA

I arrived in LA at night on Wednesday   Dec 4th at night. The weather was much warmer that Seattle and that was enjoyable.  We went to Trader Joes for food and then to friends place in Studio City. I could not of choose a better time to start my vacation with the The New Moon in Sagittarius on Dec 2 at 11 degrees in aspect to my Sun in Virgo bringing inspiration and expansive energies for my holiday vacation.  Also the ruler of Jupiter is in Cancer transiting my 11th of friends, along with Uranus the planet of change. I definitely felt free to express my poetry, meet and made many new friends. I have read that a Sagittarius New Moon provides us with a broader perspective, giving us the opportunity to examine our higher knowledge, belief systems and visions to determine how we want to make plans for our New Year.
On Thursday I went to my favorite restaurant: CafĂ© Aroma in Studio City for an outdoor Patio lunch. In the evening I went and read my poetry at the Soap Box Sessions in Encino, not far from Studio City, http://www.spreadthesoap.com/soapbox-sessions/.   Their was a great mix of musicians, comics and poets. Also energetic audience and supportive MC Jason Brain
On Friday I went to Santa Monica for a weekend beach getaway at Santa Monica Youth Hostel. Friday night is always a blast at the First Friday Venice art walk with the stores, outer booths, food carts and Christmas parties.
Santa Monica has an amazing Farmers Market with Fruit in December like juicy persimmons and a weird mix of cauliflower and broccoli.
After the delicious treat of many samples I wanted to go to the Getty Museum but it was just too windy.  I decided to just go to Whole Foods and get some lunch and bring it to the Barnes and Noble coffee area. It was quite an adventure to share my poetry with a TV producer and his family. I hope we can stay connected and I keep my eye out for his show on Alligators on Animal planet.
On Sunday I went to Lake Shrine Self-Realization Fellowship Temple where I communed with the Paramahansa Yogananda and many other saints. This is very much a spiritual pilgrimage to the  Self-Realization Fellowship Temple in the hills past Santa Monica. They have beautiful garden area where you can walk around a large pond with swans and many spiritual statues.
In the late afternoon I performed at an open Mike at Beyond Baroque Literary Arts Center in Venice CA It was a youth oriented open mike. I show up at the end and performed two poems. It was so beat when I performed Landscape of sound with a drummer and poet. named Julio Rodrigurz.
Wow that connection with music and poetry feels so high. http://www.marcymoonstar.com/performances/LandscapeOfSound.html

I decided to stay and listen to a group show of poets: Tongue in Grove, organized my Cathy Colman. Also at the end of my poetry tour in CA I was part of an open mike in there hall. I was a very serious group and reading but I did get an introduction as a poet who lives in Seattle. This is very, very supportive place for poets and I wish there was some way I could live in Venice Ca   http://www.beyondbaroque.org
When I got back to LA and my friends place in Studio City I decided to go to the La Zoo where I saw a giraffe family, a tiger and a family of Apes. Here are some pictures I took at the Zoo.

And I do not want to forget going to the Story Salon at the Art Parlor in Studio City with my friend Dori who is a poet and a storyteller. They are a wonderful group and I miss them.
I had an unusual adventure on the Sagittarius full moon. I did not realize The Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens is closed on Tuesdays.  I was upset because it takes a long time on the bus in LA. I was lucky this nice lady make the same mistake and she and her son drove me to the town of Pasadena where I meet Andrea and I gave her an astrology reading in exchange for some ice cream and I even got a ride back to Studio City. What a great gal and a new friend. The Moon occurs in Gemini with the Sun in Sagittarius is off the charts mutable and challenged me to be more versatile, adaptable and flexible after the mishap at the museum. The up side of this full moon is we can receive and disseminate information. And being the flexible Virgo I am, I was ready and open to meeting new people and have new experiences.
I also went to Stories bookstore on  West Sunset Blvd where they have my poetry books. I was happy that they sold all the books from last year and bought more of my mini : check out my website for more information and to buy the books.    .http://www.marcymoonstar.com/books/Mini-Books.html   After the books I went to the newly remodeled Eco park.

The next week on a Thursday I went to the Downtown L.A. Art Walk where there were many interesting art galleries and even a strange performance with Grub von Krampus, The European Yuletide Devil. www.krampuslosangles.com  The panting is called Sanctuary by Robert Reynolds.

Rapp Saloon Poetry Reading at the Santa Monica Youth Hostel MC Elena Secota on the last Friday of my vacation was a supper night for performing my poetry. I was very relaxed and Sean Hill said I was a fire cracker when I accidently asked to perform during his feature set because he said he would play drums to one of my poems. I performed "Birth Yourself"

I finally got to the Getty Villa on the last weekend of my vacation. The Museum is Pacific Palisades not far from Santa Monica. The weather was delightfully warm. I Always enjoy seeing the Aphrodite’s statue and getting my picture taken with her. This time I made a film about loving myself ; all of who I am. I am not quite ready to share the video.

I also went to the Venice Canals and walk around and around the canals with the sunny shinning and the Holiday decorations.  In reflection I felt like a kid in Santa’s village in the real Venice possibly.

The last night of my vacation I saw Saving My Banks to top off my stay in LA with my friend Agnes. It was a very touching and playful movie about the making of Mary Poppins with Walt Disney and the author P. L. Travers.
All in all this was the best of my Los Angeles Holiday Vacations. I do enjoying my everyday living in Seattle but LA is happening place with the Arts and with weather.
